Students at other schools remember Morgan Academy’s Caden Tellier

People at other area schools are remembering the life of Morgan Academy quarterback Caden Tellier.

Caden suffered a brain injury in Morgan Academy’s season-opening game against Southern Academy of Greensboro on Friday night. He died at a Birmingham hospital the next day.

Morgan Academy is in Selma and is a member of the AISA. Lowndes Academy in Lowndesboro could be considered an AISA rival, but that didn’t stop students and staff from praying for Caden’s family and everyone at Morgan Academy today.

Even though these students may not have known Caden personally, they want to show their support.

“We were having a moment of silence and thanking God for all of our blessings and taking time to reflect on all He’s given us and how it can be taken from us, and how we’ve got to live life for Him because we never know when our time is going to come,” Zach Azar, a senior football player, told Action 8 News.

“Remembering Caden and reflecting on what God’s given us and a moment of silence for him,” Watters Box, another senior football player, said.

“I can only imagine you know what not only the family of his, but also the school itself, what they’re going through. I know it’s a very hard time. What comforts me is everything I’ve heard, not only was he a young man of faith and his family is too, which will help then get through this tragedy,” Lowndes Academy Headmaster Barry Mohun said.

Other schools have posted messages on social media in support of Caden’s family and everyone at Morgan Academy.
