Cramton Bowl adds flashing LED lights and video board
The Cramton Bowl upped its game ahead of kickoff on Aug. 24. The City of Montgomery poured poured $2 million into renovations that include a video board and LED lights.
The video board stands over 20 feet high and nearly 40 feet wide. Fixed-digit scoreboards surround the video board and give fans info about time left in the game and down and distance to go. Cramton Bowl also added LED lights. The lights flash a team’s colors when they score a touchdown, aiming to modernize the stadium.
“To be more up to date with today’s game, today’s event space,” City of Montgomery parks and recreation director Brandon Dean said. “To have us competing with our neighboring cities, counties and states about what they have to offer in their stadiums.”
Director Dean says he hopes the renovations can help Cramton Bowl attract events beyond sports, like concerts, to Montgomery.
Fans can enjoy the additions all fall at high school football games on Thursdays and Fridays.
