Alabama State’s AJ Gates earns SWAC weekly honors

Alabama State Junior AJ Gates earns SWAC Specialist of the week after his performance in the Orange Blossom Classic on Sunday.
During Sunday’s game, Gates recorded two kickoff returns for 98 yards and one touchdown. Gate’s 82 yard touchdown return came when the Hornets were trailing 21-0.
In addition to his two kickoff returns and touchdown, Gates also recorded four carries for ten yards and one reception.
The Hornets return to action on Saturday against Miles.
