Looks Wet Late Week
We’re looking at some significant changes to our weather this week into the upcoming weekend. Our first decent chance for rain will come into play late week and then a real cold front will push through the state over the weekend. A nice taste of fall will be in the air going into early next week.
In the meantime, we’re expecting a partly sunny sky with gusty east winds Wednesday. A few showers can’t be ruled out but most spots remain dry. Temps will manage the upper 80s for afternoon high temps. An old stalled frontal boundary along the northern gulf will come into play Thursday into Friday. Disturbances riding along the boundary will help generate rain activity across some of our area. The rainfall will be heavier across south Alabama and taper off the farther northward you go into the state. Temps will be impacted by the clouds/rain and we’re only expecting upper 70s to lower 80s for highs both Thursday and Friday. The rain could go into Friday evening and that could be an issue for some high school football games, especially across south Alabama.
The upcoming weekend will look a lot different. A cold front will sweep through Saturday. We will carry a small chance for showers but most spots stay rain free. The air behind the front is much cooler and we could experience upper 50s to lower 60s for morning temps Sunday and again Monday. This should be a nice little taste of fall.
