Francine to make landfall in Louisiana Wednesday

Tropical Storm Francine is expected to become a Category-2 hurricane in the Gulf Of Mexico, before coming ashore in Louisiana by Wednesday afternoon or evening.  As Francine moves inland and farther north, rain bands will spread into Central and South Alabama.  Rain could be heavy at times, especially on Thursday, with sustained winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour.

We’ll also have at least a small threat for severe thunderstorms and brief tornadoes on Thursday.  Rain chances will decrease starting Friday, but scattered thundershowers are expected to continue through the upcoming weekend.
