An Alexander City man is in custody for electronic solicitation of a child.

Alexander City Police Sgt. Drew Machen tells Action 8 News that around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the 200 block of Oak Hill Drive to meet with an organization called “Predator Poachers.”

Representatives from the group told officers that 52-year-old Ricky Lynn McVey had been talking with an underage female.

McVey was taken into custody and charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Minor, Transmit Obscene Material to a Child and Possession of a Short-barreled rifle.

McVey is currently in the Tallapoosa County Jail.
