Juvenile charged with making threat against school in Troy

Troy police say a juvenile has been charged with making a threat against a local school.

Police say that threat was made over the weekend on social media. Officers have charged the juvenile with making a terrorist threat in the second degree.

No other information about the juvenile has been released. The school has not been named.

The juvenile has been placed in the Troy Police Department’s Short Term Juvenile Detention Facility.

The Troy Police Department says it’s collaborating closely with the Troy City School System to thoroughly investigate the situation.

Police say there is no known active threat to any schools in the area.
