14-year-old charged in death of a Montgomery man

Montgomery police say a 14-year-old is in custody in connection to the death of a Montgomery man in June.

Maj. Saba Coleman says the unidentified teenager was identified as the suspect in the June 27th shooting death of 67-year-old Holloway Vason.

Officers and fire medics responded to the 3400 block of Woodley Road that evening after receiving a call that a person had been shot.

Once they arrived, they found Vason with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Vason was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The 14-year-old male was taken into custody on September 17 and is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on no bond.
