Selma man pleads guilty to charges including attempted murder

A Selma man gets a 20 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to several charges in a Dallas County courtroom earlier this week.
Forty year old Alfred Bell plead guilty to attempted murder — rape — and criminal mischief.
District Attorney Robert Turner, Jr. says Bell was about to go on trial — when he decided to plead guilty instead.
Turner says Bell assaulted and raped his ex-girlfriend back in 2018 — and then tried to drown her.
He says Bell’s ex — had a protective order against him — at the time of crime.
