TICKLED PINK: Thank you for making 10th anniversary event such a success!
All of us at Action 8 want to thank you for making our 10th annual Tickled Pink event such a big success.
This year, in honor of our 10th anniversary, we moved the event outdoors. The weather was ideal for the hundreds of people who came out to Riverwalk Stadium on Saturday for what we called our Tickled Pink Out Party.
Tickled Pink is our yearly fundraiser for the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds went to the Cancer Wellness Foundation, which helps people with various forms of cancer in all kinds of ways.
We honored breast cancer survivors with a parade through Riverwalk Stadium, led by this year’s Tickled Pink Survivor Makeover winner, Matilda Tucker.
We also paid tribute to those who lost their fight, like Lisa Crenshaw, who worked in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and was loved by all who knew her.
Because Tickled Pink was outdoors, this year’s event featured many fun activities for children, such as bouncy houses and remote-controlled cars to drive. We also had a special area for anyone to sit and watch football games on TV.
More than 70 vendors took part, along with the owners of several food trucks.
We are still counting up the proceeds. But we want to make sure each of you knows how grateful all of us at Action 8 are for your support through the years. Those who are breast cancer patients or survivors are thankful for your help.
