Tipster to get reward for information that led to arrest of teenager in fatal Montgomery shooting
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers says it will be paying a reward to the person who provided information that led to the arrest of a teenager in a fatal Montgomery shooting.
Police say 67-year-old Holloway Vason of Montgomery was shot in the 3400 block of Woodley Road on June 24 and died three days later.
A tipster provided information to CrimeStoppers, which police say was essential in leading to the arrest of a 14-year-old male suspect on September 17. He is being held in the youth detention facility without bond.
CrimeStoppers offered a cash reward starting at $2,500, with Montgomery City Councilman Oronde Mitchell adding $5,000. CrimeStoppers will be paying that cash reward to the anonymous tipster.
