Pay It Forward: Charlie Taylor of Montgomery

Charlie Taylor has been the head janitor at Carver High School in Montgomery for years.

“I’ve been principal here 19 years. Mr. Taylor has been a part of my 19 years, actually probably here before I got here. He’s instrumental and everything we do here. Mr. Taylor is here in the afternoon when I leave. He beats me back in the morning. One of the first to pull up. If Mr. Taylor wasn’t here, this place wouldn’t run,” said Principal Gary Hall.

And he does a whole lot more than just keeping the school clean.

He was nominated for the Vance Law Firm’s Pay It Forward award  for his caring heart and the way he goes out of his way to help.

“Children that get left and parents don’t pick ’em up, he’s like ‘where you live?’ He gonna take them home. They say, ‘Mr. Charlie, I don’t have any lunch money.’ He gonna feed those kids,” said nominator Deborah Brown.
