Mainly dry, warm Thursday; Mainly cloudy, cooler with rain Friday
Thursday looks like another warm early October day, with high temperatures approaching 90°. The afternoon sky remains partly cloudy on average. A few brief, stray showers may form late in the day. However, nearly all of our area remains dry. Clouds increase Thursday night, with low temperatures closer to 70°. Rain develops across our area by Friday morning.
At least scattered rain continues through Friday afternoon. The combination of rain and a mainly cloudy sky holds high temperatures to the upper 70s to low 80s. Most of the rain tapers off Friday evening, though some clouds linger Friday night into the weekend. Rain amounts may be near 1″ in some locations, but lower in others. Saturday and Sunday look partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers. High temperatures range from the mid to upper 80s each day.
Next week looks pleasant for our area at this time. Although, the National Hurricane Center continues to monitor possible Gulf of Mexico tropical development. However, it looks like that system remains southeast of Alabama through early next week. A cold front may sweep through Alabama Monday into Tuesday, merging with the Gulf of Mexico system. That may result in mainly sunny and cooler weather with lower humidity through Friday.
