Montgomery man dies in Bullock County crash
A two-vehicle crash in Bullock County has claimed the life of a Montgomery man.
The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 82 near mile marker 213, approximately five miles east of Midway.
Troopers say 39-year-old Guadalupe Hernandez-Gomez was fatally injured when the 2005 Toyota 4Runner he was driving collided head-on with the 2020 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer driven by 35-year-old Rashad Antwane Peters, of Fort Gaines, Ga.
Hernandez-Gomez was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Peters was also injured and transported to Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery for treatment.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the accident.
