Mainly sunny, dry, temperatures trend cooler this week

The weekend weather was pleasant across central and south Alabama. Some sunshine filled the sky Sunday, although some clouds were in the mix especially early in the day. Isolated showers drifted across the southern part of the state during the morning into the afternoon, but faded away during the evening. Sunday night looks mainly clear and dry with lows in the low 60s.

This week looks pleasant and more fall-like across central and south Alabama. Although, Monday still looks very warm with high temperatures near 90°. Each day looks mostly sunny, with no chance for rain. Temperatures trend cooler towards the weekend. Afternoon temperatures only warm into the low 80s Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows fall into the 50s starting Wednesday night.

Milton became a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday. However, the forecast track takes the storm into the west coast of Florida Wednesday, well south of Alabama. The forecast strengthens Milton into a powerful category 4 hurricane Tuesday, with sustained winds of 145 mph. Still looks like our area receives no direct impacts.
