Shooting at Lee County party leaves one dead, one injured
A shooting at a party in Lee County has left a man dead and another seriously hurt.
Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones says the shooting happened just before 9:30PM Saturday in the 3000 block of Lee County Road 11 South in Beauregard.
Jones says 34-year-old Darrian Finley of Opelika was pronounced dead on the scene. Another unidentified victim had to be flown to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, to be treated for a gunshot wound.
Jones says it appears an argument led to the shooting. The people involved are believed to know each other. A gun was recovered at the scene that they believe was involved, Jones said.
Witnesses are now being interviewed. No one has been arrested.
Finley’s body was taken to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for further examination.
