Man opens fire on law enforcement officers in Dallas Co.

A Dallas County man is behind bars tonight — after he opens fire on authorities — who were attempting to serve him with a warrant Friday afternoon.
Sheriff Mike Granthum says deputies were called-in — to help state probation officials safely apprehend 20 year old Matthew Wright. But when officers approached the house — Wright opened fire on them.
Then barricaded himself inside.
“We backed off. I began negotiations with the subject. And about 30 or 45 minutes later we were able to talk him out of the residence,” said Granthum.
“When we searched the house we found marijuana, we found cocaine. We found fentanyl, we found all kinds of drug paraphernalia and stuff.”
Wright is now being held without bond.
His charges include five counts of attempted murder — unlawful possession of marijuana — and a probation violation.
