Death investigation opened following death of an Illinois man
Montgomery police have opened up a death investigation following the death of an Illinois man.
Maj. Saba Coleman tells Action 8 News that on Friday, October 4, at around 6:32 p.m., officers and fire medics responded to the train tracks between US Foods and the Stock Yard after receiving a report that a person had been struck by a train.
24-year-old John Combs was found with fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The circumstances remain under investigation. No additional information is available for release in connection to this continuing investigation.
IBEW Local 196 in Huntley, Illinois said earlier this week that Combs was a lineman helping with storm restoration. He was on his way back home to Illinois, but was last seen Friday.
Police ask individuals with knowledge of this Death Investigation to call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, Secret Witness at 625-4000, or MPD at 625-2831.
