Montgomery Whitewater’s Build Your Own Boat competition is a celebration of ingenuity and creativity
The hotter temperatures on Sunday made it great day to cool off in the water, and some fearless teams battled the rapids at Montgomery Whitewater in homemade boats. Montgomery Whitewater hosted their first ever Build Your Own Boat competition.
It required participants to design, build, and navigate custom made boats through the rapids on Whitewater’s competition channel. This exciting and family-friendly spectator event was a celebration of creativity. teamwork, and outdoor fun. The eight teams all brought their competitive spirit. Our Action 8 News team managed to stay afloat in their boat, with anchor Jerome Jones navigating the voyage.
During the competition, guests were able to enjoy live music thanks to Montgomery Whitewater’s weekly Get Down Concert Series.
The winners of the boat competition were called “The Tuggers” made up of Taylor and Adam Whitt. They made a tugboat.
