A correctional officer at Kilby Prison in Montgomery County has been arrested, according to court records.

Those records show that on the night of August 13, senior correctional officer William Todd was checking in inmate Gregory Walker and took five packs of cigarettes, 15 packs of rolling papers and two gold chains from Walker’s personal property.

Court records show Todd confessed to taking those items, and giving the cigarettes and rolling papers to another inmate in exchange for a haircut.

Court records state that the gold chains were found at Todd’s home and returned to Walker.  Walker did not wish to prosecute for the theft of his gold chains since they were returned.

Todd is charged with using his position for personal gain. He was arrested by the Alabama Department of Corrections and put in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
