Alabama rises to No. 14 in AP Top 25 College Football Poll after shutout victory over Missouri

Alabama has risen one spot to No. 14 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 College Football Poll following its 34-0 victory over Missouri.

Missouri fell four positions to No. 25 with the loss.

Alabama, which is now 6-2, is still in the playoff hunt. After a bye week, the Crimson Tide next faces LSU on Nov. 9. LSU is now ranked No. 16, falling eight places after its 38-23 loss at Texas A&M, which has risen to No. 10.

Overall, Oregon is still No. 1, with 61 first-place votes, over No. 2 Georgia, which had one first-place vote. Georgia was idle this week.

Miami edged ahead of Texas and climbed to No. 5, its highest ranking since 2017.

Texas, which had dropped from No. 1 to No. 5 after its home loss to Georgia, slipped another spot to No. 6 following a three-point win at Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt had been No. 25 but has dropped out of the poll with the loss.

There are eight SEC teams in this week’s poll.
