Man killed in Montgomery shooting

A man has been killed in a shooting, prompting Montgomery police to launch a homicide investigation.

Police say the shooting happened at about 6:40PM Saturday in the 1000 block of Mill Street, which is near Oak Street, just west of Interstate 65.

Investigators say 34-year-old Marquaries Williams of Montgomery suffered gunshot wounds and was taken to a medical facility and pronounced dead.

No other information has been released.
