From the West Alabama Newsroom–
With the general election now less than a week away — folks in the Selma-Dallas County area — are gearing up for a big day.
Organizations like Foot Soldiers Park — are working to get out the vote.
“Our aim is to engage the community to inspire them to go ahead and vote. And step out and vote basically, when November the 5th comes,” said Valencia Benjamin.
County election officials are working to get everything in place — to hold the election.
Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn says the county will likely have an above average voter turnout on Election Day — based on absentee voting.
“These last few weeks, we have seen an increase in the amount of voters coming to vote absentee,” said Nunn.
