Man dead in Montgomery shooting

Montgomery police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead.

The shooting happened around 4:25 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of Gibbs Drive.

Once officers and fire medics arrived, they found an adult male victim with a fatal gunshot wound. 23-year-old Zachary McMeans was pronounced dead on the scene.

MPD says the initial investigation prompted a homicide investigation; however, new evidence revealed it to be a death investigation.
