Autauga County voters turn down tax hike for schools

Voters in Autauga County have said no to raising taxes to make improvements in their public schools.

Unofficial results with 100% of precincts reporting show that 61% voted no, compared to 39% voting yes. More than 26,000 people cast ballots in this vote.

The proposal would have raised property taxes by 7 mill.
