Two men arrested for promoting prison contraband in Escambia County

Two people are in custody for promoting prison contraband in Escambia County.

The Alabama Department of Corrections says on Friday, a K-9 unit spotted a suspicious vehicle on state property at Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore.

Officers later arrested Jovaughn Matzner and Nicholas Williams.

Both are charged with possession of marijuana, attempting to promote prison contraband, and prohibited activities.

Matzner and Williams were booked into the Escambia County Detention Facility.
