Selma-Dallas Co. area honor the service of military veterans

People in the Dallas County area also paid tribute our military veterans Monday — at a Veteran’s Day ceremony in Selma.

People gathered at Memorial Stadium to show their gratitude to the servicemen and women.

The annual Veteran’s Day ceremony is a time-honored tradition for many area families.

“We’ve been coming to the Selma-Dallas County Veteran’s memorial service, and Memorial Day service since I was in elementary school,” said Dan Wendland.

“I’ve been going to these for 40-plus years, 45 years here in Selma. So, I really appreciate it,” said Vietnam veteran Jim Thomas.

The American Legion — Post-20 — sponsors the Veteran’s Day ceremony — each year.
