Elected officials in Dallas County take the oath of office

Six elected officials in Dallas County — officially began their terms in office Wednesday morning.
Four county commissioners took the oath of office — surrounded by family — friends and supporters.
Each pledged to support and uphold the constitutions of the United States — and the state of Alabama.
Immediately following the ceremony — the commission held a brief organizational meeting.
“In which we set the time and date for our commission meetings. And then we also approved a vice-chair for our commission,” said Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn.
“Connell Towns, serving for District 1. He will be our vice chair now for the Dallas County Commission.”
Two members of the Dallas County School Board — were also sworn in — at the ceremony.
