Hundreds of children explore science and art at Montgomery Academy’s STEAMfest

Hundreds of children had a blast at Montgomery Academy’s STEAMfest on Saturday as they learned about science and art in a fun way. Montgomery Academy’s 9th annual STEAMfest was a free come and go event designed to engage children in pre-school through the 6th grade.

There were dozens of hands on activities, including art projects, engineering and design challenges, and ALEA even landed a helicopter on on the soccer field that children could look at and sit in. Lockheed Martin brought flight simulators so kids could pretend to fly an F-35 plane.

MA’s chickens strutted around and greeted everyone, and WAKA’s Chief Meteorologist Shane Butler brought Thunder Truck and entertained students by demonstrating what a tornado in a bottle looks like.
