ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police identify fatal shooting victim

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police have now identified the man who was shot and killed near Interstate 65.

Police say at around 4:18PM yesterday afternoon, they were called to the 900 block of West South Boulevard, which is just east of the interstate. That is where they found a man with a fatal gunshot wound. He has been identified as 44-year-old Maurice Walker, who was from North Carolina.

In addition, police say they were called to 100 block of Beckview Drive, where they found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They say he was also shot in the 900 block of West South Boulevard.  

MPD is conducting a homicide and assault investigation.
