Two Rounds Of Rain Ahead This Week
We’re heading into a holiday week with a couple of rounds of rain set to move through here. Once the last of the rain is gone, we’re bracing for some of the coldest air so far this fall to move into the area. Better start looking for those thicker coats before the upcoming weekend!
In the meantime, the first round of rain moves through the area overnight. It will be a broken line of showers moving from west to east across the state. We don’t expect anything strong and most of it will just be showers. The rain activity departs early and we could be back into sunshine by midday Tuesday. Temps should manage mid to upper 60s for highs.
We will be in between weather systems Wednesday. Looks like a partly sunny sky with temps warming nicely into the lower to mid 70s by the afternoon.  The next frontal boundary will be advancing eastward that night and we’re expecting showers and possibly a few t-storms to move through late night Wednesday into Thursday. Temps ahead of the front will still manage to warm and afternoon highs will reach the lower 70s.
Friday through the weekend will look and feel a lot different. Yes, there will be abundant sunshine but the air mass behind the front will have an Arctic connection to it. Despite the sunshine, high temps will only manage lower to mid 50s while overnight lows will hover around freezing for several days. The blast of cold air will stick around well into that following work week.
