Mainly dry, sunshine, November ends and December begins cold

Thanksgiving started on a stormy note across central and south Alabama. A line of storms moved north to south through our area in advance of a cold front. By mid-morning, those storms were mainly south and east of our area. Some sunshine filled the sky, but winds turned generally north and temperatures were cooler for the rest of the day.

Winter-like cold looks like the main weather story for the rest of the holiday weekend and about the first half of next week. Temperatures fall into the low 40s early Friday morning, with lower wind chills. Lingering clouds actually keep temperatures a bit milder Thursday night. However, our sky looks mainly clear through the middle of next week.

That allows temperatures to fall into the 20s to low 30s each night during that time. Meanwhile, afternoon temperatures remain in the 50s despite sunshine. Our area also remains rain-free during that time. However, temperatures look a bit milder late next week. High temperatures likely rebound into the mid 60s Thursday and Friday. Additionally, we may see clouds increase and some rain those days.
