Downtown Wetumpka business owners excited about the start of the Christmas shopping season

Downtown Wetumpka store owners are coming off Black Friday and Small Business Saturday seeing a lot of shoppers coming through their doors.

Action 8 News was in Wetumpka, where the Downtown Wetumpka Holiday Open House continues to grow. Store owners located on Hill and East Bridge Street downtown are seeing the benefits.

Wil Lanum, the owner of Grumpy Dog had Hot dog specials ready to go.

Pam Martin, the owner of The Shops Downtown, walked her sign all the way to the main corner to give customers the directions to her shop.

Tiers Of Sweetness owners Denice Pittman and Cherryl Knighten say that downtown is special with plenty of novelty and arts craft shops that you won’t find in the box stores.

Main Street Wetumpka director Jenny Stubbs says since 2016, 24 businesses have set up shop downtown, with 51 new jobs.
A $6 million investment in public and private dollars has been made to make downtown more welcoming.
