Body found in Alexander City lake

Alexander City police are investigating a body found in a lake Wednesday.

Sgt. Drew Machen tells Action 8 News that officers were called around 10:53 a.m. to the Stowe Ferry boat ramp after receiving a report that a person’s body was in the lake.

Once officers arrived, they traveled by boat to meet with two individuals who reported the body on the water.

After an autopsy was performed at the Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, the victim was identified as 31-year-old Clifford Wesley Beach, of Harpersville.

Sgt. Machen said Beach was previously reported missing in Sylacauga.

The case remains under investigation at this time.
