Rain returns Wednesday night, turning cold again late this week
Wednesday morning was the coldest of the recent winter cold stretch across central and south Alabama. Morning lows were in the low 20s in several locations. However, sunshine was abundant again through midday, so temperatures rebounded into the mid 50s by noon. However, clouds increase late Wednesday. Rain returns Wednesday night. Temperatures remain much milder as a result, with lows in the 40s to low 50s.
Rain begins tapering off Thursday morning. Rain amounts of one-tenth to one-quarter inch for most locations look reasonable. Clouds linger Thursday, and winds may become brisk out of the northwest in the wake of a cold front. Thursday night turns cold again, with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s. Friday remains cool despite sunshine. Friday night lows range from the upper 20s to low 30s again.
This weekend looks mainly dry, with sunshine Saturday but clouds increase Sunday. Another front brings soaking rain to Alabama next Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday may trend drier. Meanwhile, temperatures remain cool this weekend, with highs in the low 60s Saturday and mid 60s Sunday. Despite clouds and rain, temperatures may be milder next week.
