ACTION 8 UPDATE: Woman, young child die of injuries in Montgomery house fire
ACTION 8 UPDATE: A woman and child who were injured in a house fire in Montgomery have died.
Montgomery Fire/Rescue Assistant Chief Stanley Cooper said the fire was reported at around 7:26AM Saturday morning, December 7, at a home in the 4000 block of Vandiver Court. Smoke and flames could be seen when firefighters arrived.
Cooper described the victims as an elderly woman and a girl who was five years old. They had been treated by medics at the scene and then taken to an emergency room for further care. Cooper told Action 8 News the girl died the day after the fire, while the woman died the following day.
The cause of the fire isn’t yet known.
