Pike Road business leaders come together to reflect over the past year
Members of the business community came together in the Town of Pike Road this morning to reflect on the accomplishments of this year while looking ahead to 2025.
It was part of the Celebration of 2024 Business Breakfast and Community Update.
Business leaders and community members got to hear from local, county and state leaders about the successes so far, while networking and enjoying breakfast.
Mayor Gordon Stone said Pike Road would not be where they are today if it were not for the business community choosing to invest into the town.
“It’s a direct result of our partners,” said Mayor Stone. “Those at the county level, the state level. Those who help us every day in the professional world. We are so thankful so we celebrate those relationships. Our school system — we celebrate them but as much as anything we are so excited we have an A on the state report card when it comes to education. We just sold our bonds to build a high school with and the combination of the school board working with the town, we got another AA+ rating. What a wonderful testimony to the team here that manages things to our great partners in our great town.”
Mayor Stone talked about Pike Road’s newest investment program, known as ONWARD Town of Pike Road. Town officials say it delivers a cross section of product that meets multiple town needs. The plan includes:
- An economic development park on US 231 South. Plus, the first tenant is in the process of securing an agreement.
- Nine new tennis courts and pickleball complex.
- A new fire station in conjunction with the Pike Road Volunteer Fire Department.
- A local-run ambulance service is being brought to Pike Road that will serve the needs of the community. This is in conjunction with Montgomery County Commission.
- Five new road and infrastructure projects that are approved and in the process of being constructed, engineered or planned.
- A series of new trail projects along the current trails which will extend and expand the network.
- A new Arts District featuring a theater/auditorium complex, an event center and a museum/historical feature.
- An all-purpose, inclusive playground
Some of the accomplishments over the year include the groundbreaking of the new high school and the dedication of the Childrens Depot at Founders Station.
