More rain or storms Friday; Severe storms possible Saturday night

Gloomy post-Christmas weather for our area so far. Thursday was cloudy with rain during the morning. Temperatures were only in the 50s during the day. An east breeze added a chill to the air. Thursday night looks cloudy and cool with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s, and an east wind of 5 to 10 mph.

Showers and storms become scattered about Friday afternoon and evening. Otherwise, the sky remains mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the 60s to near 70°. Friday night through Saturday morning look drier. However, another round of storms arrives Saturday night. These storms could be strong to severe, capable of damaging wind gusts and a couple tornadoes. Have a way to receive weather warnings Saturday night.

Storms depart early Sunday morning. These rest of the day looks drier and partly to mostly cloudy. Next week looks mainly dry at this time, though a couple systems may sweep across Alabama Tuesday and Thursday. It looks like they produce little if any rain. However, colder air likely arrives in the wake of the second.
