Selma Fire & Rescue battles raging early morning fire
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
An early morning structure fire in Selma shuts down one of the city’s busiest streets Monday morning.
The battle to contain the fire waged on for several hours — before fire fighters were able to put it out.
The house had been boarded up. And it was believed to have been vacant.
Fire officials say a fire fighter suffered minor injuries fighting the fire.
“We had one that was cut by a glass window when the window broke out,” said Capt. Aneas Pettway.
“We had nothing major. But we treated him at the scene and everything good to go.”
Fire officials say the cause of the fire — remains under investigation.
