Woman killed in Perry County crash

A woman has been killed in a single-car crash in Perry County.

Alabama State Troopers say 74-year-old Mable Shepard of Cleveland, Ohio, was a passenger in a car that left the road and overturned. Investigators say she was not using a seat belt and was thrown from the wreckage. She died at the scene.

State troopers say the driver, 77-year-old Willie Shepard, also of Cleveland, Ohio, was injured. He was taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis for treatment.

The wreck happened at about 10:40AM on Saturday, December 28, on Perry County Road 23, about 12 miles north of Uniontown.
