Father & son duo accused of assaulting senior citizen in Perry Co.
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A Perry County father and son are each facing assault charges tonight. They’re accused of brutally beating up a senior citizen.
Fifty-five year old James Bradley Hobson — and 28 year old Kevin Chase Hobson — are each charged with first-degree assault.
They’re accused of beating up a 65 year old Howard Mayton after they found him fishing at a pond near the 1800 block of Hopewell Church Road.
“They took a 12-gauge shotgun and hit Mr. Mayton several times in the face and head. And other parts of his body where they caused a concussion. He had some bruised kidneys, broken ribs, had to have surgery on his wrist. They broke his arm and shattered his wrist on his right hand,” said Sgt. Michael Kiser with the Perry Co. Sheriff’s Office.
The father-son duo is free tonight — after they both posted a $30-thousand dollar bond.
