ACTION 8 UPDATE: A woman faces charges after an incident involving gunfire inside the Montgomery Regional Airport at 1:10AM on Saturday, January 4.

The incident occurred at the closed TSA Security Checkpoint. Officials say a glass window was damaged by a single gunshot fired by 37-year-old Saundrea Allen. Investigators say she also caused damage in the parking lot as she drove away from the scene.

No one was hurt.

Airport officials say with the help of the Montgomery Police Department, she was arrested after being involved in a wreck. They say the gun was recovered.

Normal operations resumed at 4AM that day.

“We are grateful for the swift response from our local law enforcement, which ensured the safety of everyone at the airport,” said Wade A. Davis, C.M. MGM Executive Director. “We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all passengers.”

Allen has been charged with firing a gun into an occupied building and criminal mischief.

Montgomery Regional Airport says it is working closely with law enforcement agencies as the investigation continues.
