Wintry excitement is winding down

Ice pellets fell in the Capital City before sunrise Friday, and snowflakes mixed with the raindrops in various locations, but accumulations of wintry precipitation were limited mostly to areas north of Prattville and Wetumpka.  Widespread rain will continue for much of the day today and Friday evening, as temperatures slowly rise over 40 degrees.

We’re expecting a dry weekend, although clouds could be slow to move out on Saturday.  The thermometer should reach 50 degrees or warmer by Sunday afternoon.
