Very cold Saturday night; Sunshine, cool Sunday; Rain Sunday night
Sunshine returned Saturday, but temperatures were quite cool, even for a January day across central and south Alabama. High temperatures were in the mid 40s, a good 10 to 15° below average. Saturday night looks mainly clear with light to calm winds, but very cold. Low temperatures range from the low to mid 20s early Sunday morning.
Sunday begins with sunshine, but clouds increase during the afternoon. Temperatures look a bit warmer than Saturday, but still cool and below average. Highs range from the low to mid 50s. Rain returns Sunday evening, first across southwest Alabama, then spreads across the rest of our area Sunday night. Looks like all rain, with nothing frozen falling from the sky this time around.
Rain continues into Monday morning, but Monday afternoon looks drier with lingering clouds. Temperatures only warm into the low 50s. Monday night lows fall to around 30° with a clearing sky. The rest of the week looks fairly sunny and dry. Temperatures remain cool through Thursday, with highs in the low to mid 50s and lows in the low 30s. Temperatures may finally reach 60° Friday. Rain likely returns next weekend.
