Gov. Kay Ivey has ordered flags on state buildings to return to full staff temporarily on January 20 in honor of President-elect Trump’s inauguration.

Flags are currently at half-staff as a memorial to former President Jimmy Carter, who died December 29 at the age of 100. President Biden ordered flags to be at half-staff for 30 days.

Under Ivey’s order, flags will be at full-staff on January 20, then return to half-staff on January 21 for the remainder of the mourning period for President Carter, which will run through January 29.
