No cost healthcare option now available in Wilcox Co. community

From the West Alabama Newsroom–

A new no cost healthcare option is available for people — who live in rural areas of the state with limited access to healthcare.

Waka Wcclinic0113 PkgAn OnMed CareStation — is like a medical clinic in a box.

And there’s now one up and running — at the Tracey Shaw Community Center in the Catherine community of Wilcox County.

“It combines the typical diagnostic tools that you would see in a typical doctor’s office or a doctor’s visit with the convenience of telemedicine,” said Caroline Linnane with OnMed.

Exams are safe and private — and patients leave with a treatment plan — e-prescriptions — and next steps.

Services are rendered to patients at no cost.
