Officers with the Metro Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit say three teenagers have been charged with robbery in Montgomery.

Officers with the MACS Unit say they saw the three conducting reconnaissance in order to rob a business in the 400 block of East South Boulevard. The officers say as they approached, the teenagers ran away.

After a foot chase, the three were arrested. MACS says two are 13 years old and the other is 14 years old.

One of the 13-year-olds was recognized by officers from a law enforcement bulletin issued by Central Alabama CrimeStoppers regarding the same business being robbed in a previous incident, MACS said.

Investigators say all suspects confessed and have been charged with second-degree robbery. Due to their age, they were released into custody of their guardians.

The MACS Unit remains committed to ensuring the safety of our local communities and will  continue to conduct operations aimed at preventing and reducing crimes.
