Man taken into custody after possible school threat in Tallassee

Tallassee police say a man has been taken into custody following a possible threat involving a school shooting.

Police say earlier today, they were made aware of a social media post involving the possible threat. Police notified all schools and they were put on a heightened awareness while the post was investigated for credibility.

Police say they took 20-year-old Allen Nicholes into custody after their investigation.  He is charged with making a terrorist threat in the first degree. His bond has been set at $15,000.

Tallassee police say they are not aware of any additional threats of danger toward the public or students attending Tallassee City Schools.
