State approves new surgery center in Montgomery

The State of Alabama has given the green light for a new surgical center in Montgomery.

The State Health Planning and Development Agency approved the Certificate of Need for Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons’ new surgery center near I-85 and Taylor Road.

Officials say now that the Certificate of Need has been approved, construction can start.

The new state of the art facility will feature four fully equipped operating rooms and two specialized procedure rooms.

Officials say in addition, the center will include a cutting-edge surgical robot for joint replacement procedures.

The new facility is expected to open within the next two years.
