Montgomery’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day events postponed due to cold weather

Events scheduled in Montgomery for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day on Monday have been postponed due to cold weather.

The parade, Family Fun Day and Birthday Bash will be held at a later date, according to the Montgomery Martin Luther King Day committee.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” State Sen. Kirk Hatcher (D-Montgomery) said in a Facebook announcement. “However, the safety of our community is our top priority.”

A new date will be announced soon, according to the post.
